Advice sought!

Hi Everyone!

I would be grateful for any advice anyone could provide with an upcoming trip. I am travelling to Sydney from London Heathrow with Asiana airlines (via Seoul). The questions I have are:

1. I will have a 7 - 8 hour layover on the outbound leg, any suggestions as to what to do?

b. The inbound leg has an overnight stay in Seoul, are there any hotels you would recommend?

iii) As a british citizen, what visa requirements (if any) do I have to fulfill to leave the airport?

Thankyou for your help!

I think this should be moved to the Asiana forum.

Anyway, there is just about nothing at all to do at ICN. Very few hotels have been built so far.

Seoul doesn't really have much in the way of tourist sights, so to speak. Depending on the time of day, you could try making a trip to the North/South Border. That's a neat experience.
Or you could go shopping in Itaewon (but after that long journey, I doubt you'd be up for it). I also went to the Deoksugung palace... and frankly, it's not all that interesting. Keep in mind that it takes well over an hour by bus to reach Seoul from Incheon (which is where you will be flying in). By car it is likely to take even longer and cost significantly more. Buses have special bus-only lanes on the freeways, so they tend to move a bit faster during rush hour.

I've always stayed at the COEX Intercontinental, which is very nice, but not near the heart of town. The Hyatt is pretty well situated (near Itaewon).

My favorite activity in Seoul: eating out. The Korean food is absolutely devine!

No, no visa required for short stays.
