As far as I can see you *can* earn flying VS flights in the NZ programme - at least the New Zealand facing version of the site says you do. (Although they don't count towards status, only towards your balance)

Something I'm curious about: Do status customers of NZ (or the other five *A airlines) get any benefits when flying VS - lounge access/baggage limits etc - or just earn points and feel grateful for it?

Seem to be more VS/NZ fares popping up for sale in UK at the moment so might have a try and report back.

On a similar note - and not keeping on-topic for this thread - do non-SQ *G pax get lounge access when using SilkAir at all?

Full of questions today - must be the holiday season catching up with me.

Nope. Silk Air is not part of *A so no *A benefits apply.

I'm sorry about that - I misread your statement as saying that none of the five give mileage, when you actually said all do give reciprocal earning _except_ to SK and OS.

Apologies.

United has three new partners and is dropping one.

Cayman is no longer a partner for earning and awards are honored through Jan 15, 2006.

Qatar Air, South African, and Swiss are now partners for earning. Redeeming for all will start sometime in 2006. Status miles for South African and Swiss will start when they join *A.

some changes for Miles & More:

to add:
E_A Aegean Airlines (since October 2005)
ESA Styrian Spirit (between Germany and Austria only)

to change:
no more Status miles on Mexicana
Shanghai Airlines: E/A on selected routes, no S

to remove:
Air Alps (now partner of AZ's MilleMiglia)
Air Littoral (bankrupt)
City Air (bankrupt)
Hahn Air (no more scheduled flight services)

off-topic: when I tried to find out what Hahn Air is actually doing now (they rent out their AOC to start-up airlines and provide ticketing services for other small airlines), I came across this site:
http://www.allairpass.com/
They offer several air passes on smaller non-alliance airlines - this could be useful if one has to fly to exotic places and/or exotic routes.

Apologies for the delay in updating. Both the OP and the reverse order post have now been updated (I think). Let me know of any errors or further updates.

SA has just announced it's code share agreement with United including earning, burning and tier miles options. The article appears on the website.

The following airlines are participants in the AmericaWest FlightFund program which is merging into US Dividend Miles. In the interim, travelers can open an AmericaWest (HP) account and credit their miles to there. All HP FF & US DM accounts will be merged into a single US DM account in late spring. All EQM/RDM/EQS will carry over to the new US Dividend Miles program:
ESA Big Sky Airlines
ESA Hawaiian Airlines (interisland flights only)
ESA Royal Jordanian Airlines
ESA Virgin Atlantic

Additionally, US also has partnerships with the following airlines not listed:
E_A AirOne
E_A BahamasAir

According to the April edition of Inside Flyer, Mexicana is no longer a partner of AC Aeroplan, effective immediately.
