Lhr Lh

I have to agree with an earlier post - the LHR SEN (*G) lounge is terrible. Well, the food and drink selection is not that bad (the Ferrero Rocher are particularly delightful) but it lets itself down on the lack of space. Anyone trying to get a seat in there on a Friday afternoon might as well forget it. In fact, I regularly go into the FTL/business lounge instead where there is less choice food and drink wise but much more space.

As for the BD lounge at AMS, well, I don't think it's that bad, it's just the distance from the lounge to the gates that is ludicrous. You even have to go through passport control (again - depending on which section you first go through when passing security). I would have thought they could have put it closer to the D gate section where all the BD flights go from.

The LH SEN lounge at CDG is also terrible, but then again, the whole of Terminal 1 is terrible, though I am informed that the French have embarked on a renovation program for the whole terminal. Raising it to the ground and building a T2-like facility would be a good start!

My particular favourite *G lounge is BD's in LHR Terminal 1 (non-domestic). It has always been pretty quiet when I am in there and there is a good choice of nibbles and drinks to choose from. Also, BD are very good at their choice of reading material and I always find the staff pleasant and informative.

I agree: it's a shame the BD lounge wasn't moved into the space vacated by the closure of the KL Crown Lounge on the D pier.

The club had nice hardwood floors, but every time someone walked on them, their soles sounded like thuds.

It look likes noone has ever startet a RTW ex CAI !!!!!
I have never seen anything more worse than that ! :td:

CAI really is bad, but just a contracted lounge.

Just did so at the weekend, and I agree, it's terrible.

Anyone been in the lounge in JED ?. Not been in for over a year but last time I did it was a twin of CAI :o . Again it's a contracted lounge.

LH BOS is a good candidate

I would have to agree with attorney28 that the LH lounge in BOS is pretty bad. I have been there a few times - my last visit was last week.

It is small, no windows, warm, no food, poor selection of drinks, overcrowded, etc.

My expectations were high prior to my last visit, as I had expected LH to use the opportunity when the International terminal (E) at BOS got renovated to renovate their lounge - but NO. The walls even had posters from the LH 1996 campaign! :td:

Other candidates could include SK at SEA, *G at SIN (not the SQ ones) and most LH lounges at FRA

just use the amex / priority club lounge next to it, empty most of the times and at least they offer diet coke. this improves the situaition form worst to close-to worst.

i also find the LAX terminal which LH uses pretty bad. four or five different lounges which you can use and all are about the same: near-to-no food, no WLAN (you need to sit in front of the lounge of a non-star-carrierīs lounge (forgot which one) to pick up their signal), no computers, no bathrooms, no good view.

Uli
,
I was in LAX a couple of weeks ago - and LH sent me to the AF lounge As F, ad IIRC it was possible to use WiFi there, even FOC over an AF provider.

Cheers

BKK Domestic TG lounge

I disagree - I always get my bfast, lunch or dinner there - the goodies are fantastic and they are served endlessly as long as you smile - it is a lot better than any domestic US lounge! Who wants an alcoholic drink in that heat anyway?

I agree with the comments about the LHR and BOS LH senator lounges but I'd like to add to the shame list:

The *G lounge at DXB.

I know that SQ, LH, OS, and TG all share the lounge (and maybe other airlines) but it is miniscule and doesn't even have the luxury of being a self-contained room. It is walled-in just by partitions and there is no ceiling, so you are breathing the same air as the rest of the terminal. What's perhaps worst is that this lounge is the furthest walk from customs / immigration so on the walk there you have to pass by some really lovely looking lounges before you reach the final disappointment.

You have to go to a much more remote part of the star alliance network to find the very worst *G lounge.

Rarotonga, on the Cook Islands has a very small, and damp *G lounge, but what is lacking in facilities is made up by excellent staff, and a can do attitude.

Its bloody amazing that somewhere so small has a gold lounge - considering the majority of the airport is in the open air, and whilst PPT has a band to welcome arrivals, RAR has a banjo player.

On the other end of the scale - mega airports - the SK *G lounge in PVG is appalling, especially when the SK flights depart right down the other end of the airport.

The one plus is that, if willing to wait two hours, a shower might be possible.

Sounds similar to SEN lounge at Munich, not smokeing you are definity in the minority .

The RAR lounge is great and the agents are sweet. I tend to grab some water and step outside - fresh air and more room as it can get very crowded.

I certainly wouldnt put it on my own worst *G lounge list.
