German TA for booking RTW
 

Can someone please urgently help me with the contact information for Thomas's TA in Germany that is able to book a RTW ex Cairo?

I have been trying to get a hold of him, but he doesn't seem to be responding. I know he travels A LOT, so I suspect he hasn't been able to answer yet.

However, I need to urgently book (I want to travel to Cairo tomorrow), so I can't really wait any longer.

As far as I know, STAR Alliance RTWs cannot be issued outside country of origin with the exception of Canada.

You may very well have to just book with LH and advise them that you'll be paying for and picking ticket up at CAI airport.

Concering the official rules you are right. RTWs cannot be issued outside country of origin with the exception of Canada. BUT: there is a very good TA who knows how to "bend" the rules bzw. how to "interprete them in a flexible way"... And if you know what kind of TA it is, you would start laughing immediately :)

cbellero: I'm sorry I can't help you. I know about the TA as I did contact Thomas last year too. But I wasn't in the need of a new RTW at that time ...

PS: Guy Butsy, there has been a short discussion in FT about it some months ago...

Thomas' TA was (is) on vacation. He was planning to return on April 5th but maybe he decided to stay away a few days more.
Maybe one of his colleagues can help you?
