Booking with Adam Vacations
 

I'm looking for a flight (USA to Europe) using Google Flights and I have a question about where to book the flights. If I want to credit the trip to my United Mileage Plus account (to ensure I receive PQP/PQF/RDM), is there a downside to using Adam Vacations as the booking agent? I looked around on Adam's website but I couldn't find the answer.

Personally I would book with Austrian direct for the sake of $150.
If anything goes wrong you can choose to deal with Adam Vacations or the airline.

Booking through OTAs like Adam will mean you need to go to them to make almost any change. A lot of these cheaper OTAs will then happily charge you their service fee on top of the standard airline change fees.

If your only concern is earning PQF/PQP/RDM, that will not be any difference between the OTA and Austrian. The other concerns are valid and I would agree that $150 isn't enough of a difference.

I would always choose to book directly with the airline rather than some random OTA. If anything goes wrong on the trip you will thank yourself for doing so :)
