*A RTW Booking?
So I have some work travel where a RTW fare actually makes a lot of sense. I need to go to London for a week, then India for a week, then home. Since I am on the US west coast, the quickest way from India is via the Pacific.
Trying to use the *A RTW booking tool is a bit of a pain. 1) It forces me to stop in a third location (TYO or SIN) instead of just being able to come home. My understanding was that I only had to stop in two countries. 2) It loves to downgrade me. I am looking for a business fare but most of the segments it recommends are in Economy or Premium Economy (even though there is tons of D space). What is the cause of that? 3) Is there an easier way to book one of these? |
I use a travel agent for these. Well worth the extra money. Expertflyer can be of some help finding space in the right booking classes, watch out for married segments (Two flights available separate but not together).
Also read the fare rules. If you run into married segements you can always add 'stopovers' and continue on the next flight out. Did you look at RT tcikets to India which allow a stop in LHR on the way? Likely possible on airlines which have LHR as a hub. |

I haven't looked at those. So I assume you mean PDX-LHR(stop)-BLR-LHR-PDX? I'll see if I can find anything.
Check which of the fares allow stopovers (either for a fee or free) Find the subclass it books into, the airlines possible and then flights which have space. |
