Your favourite *G lounge for food?

Maybe it's me, but I find that OW lounges and Centurion Lounge offer better food than any of the *G lounges that I've been to. I know UA Polaris and AC Signature lounges offer good food, but obviously *G can't take advantage of it. Anyone here have a favorite *G lounge for food?

Wonton Noodle Soup - SQ SKL HKG.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you. I was so underwhelmed by the quality of the food at all of the *A lounges at HKG. In terms of food at HKG, I would rate Centurion, CX, QF, and even Plaza Premium ahead of SQ.

Seems like a low bar, though I've got to say that I'm a fan of the pretzels and wursts in the LH senator lounges. that and a bottle of beer puts me in a pretty good mood before an underwhelming euro business flight.

Yes, but we're talking about *A gold lounges here after all, and to be fair most of them are very underwhelming compared to OW lounges.

What are you trying to say? There isn't a *G lounge that can compete with an OW lounge?

NH lounges at HND & NRT.

I think I read that the lounges are pretty good, but I've never tried them before. Can you talk more about the food?

I thought you asked for *G only...FWIW - none of the lounge you mentioned is *G.

I have never tried the nigiri sushi. However - I would rate the lounge food below average.

The quality and taste is fine. Its offerings are what makes them below average - the curry, udon/soba are discounted Japanese food.

(plus noodle bar, review below is on the smaller satellite lounge at NRT T1, there's another bigger main lounge at T1)

I believe they only had nigiri sushi during peak hour (2-3pm) at the main lounge in T1.

though given the peak rush in the lounge (quick to cook fresh udon/soba), not a bad thing. similar to the udon/soba shops near train station for a quick bite

for me, I'm happy with TK and LH senator (even LH business) lounges too

obviously there's differences between (same airline) lounge at hub vs lounge at outstation/focus city
outlier: UA lounge at NRT is better than the domestic UA lounges for various reasons

nldogbert Dec 12, 2020 1:21 pm

For me in
Europe (excluding UK): LH Athens lounge - I find the offering there slightly better even compared to the TK IST lounge (comes in 2nd)
UK: SQ SKL T2 lounge - main reason is because I get some quite good SE Asia food even though I am not heading there, different cuisine from all other *A lounge in Europe/UK with more or less the same offerings
Asia: This is a tough one - but I still put SQ SKL in SIN slightly above the NH lounge, even their First lounge. (Although it seems the new TG lounge seems to be also good, have not tried it). Worst - I would say the OZ lounge even at their hub, ICN. Even Air India have a better edge compared to them especially at a hub.
Australia/NZ: Breakfast offerings - I like the Koru lounges, but other times, the SIN lounges.

On a side note: I do agree that Oneworld airlines, even their Business lounges, do have much better offerings compared to *A most of the time.

Cheers!
