Minimum connecting time @GRU 30 minutes??

A reputable travel agency insists that a 30 minutes connection in GRU (PTY-GRU-ADD) is feasible. I tried to tell them that i highly doubt this is in line with official MCT.

This is part of a longer journey (PAP-PTY-GRU-ADD-FBM)

How can the travel agency possibly be able to issue this on one single ticket? How is it humanly possible to even contemplate 30 minutes transit at GRU, with two different airlines? I heard Star Alliance has a dedicated terminal, but still, we are not in VIE or HEL... (and even then!).

What do you think?

my advice: change your travel agency; 30 minutes for GRU is a joke; there are days on which passport control alone may take up to 45 minutes; if one thing about GRU is sure it's that the airport is unpredictable; in general, I plan with very ambitious MCTs, in ZRH or other airports I may even go below 30 minutes; but for GRU my personal absolute minimum is 2 hours, never ever below that (unless I accept a realistic risk of losing my connection flight)

Get a new travel agent. These are the MCTs for GRU, where international to international is a minimum of 1.30, depending on your airline 1.45:
STANDARD.D/D...D/I...I/D...I/I.
ONLINE 1.00 1.00 1.30 1.00
OFFLINE 1.00 1.00 1.30 1.00
** OR * ARE ALL
**-ET II 1.45

You are almost guaranteed to misconnect. As I recall it ET departs from T2, whereas most other flights operate from T3. It is quite a walk from GRU T3 to T2.

It would interesting to let the TA ticket a itinerary with only 30min at GRU. Most likely the airlines involved would pick it up and let the TA know that this in an invalid connection. Give it a try! (if misconnecting would not be significant inconvenience)

Are you sure this is a single TICKET not a single PNR constructed by the TA?

If the TA constructs a PNR consisting of separate tickets and thus enabling only 30min at GRU, I would certainly take this up with the TA - it would seem negligent.

Checked airport website with real time flight info and noticed that the gates used by ET and CM are next to eachother, would that help?

Do you have one or two ticket numbers? If you have two ticket numbers in one PNR then you donít have a connection, but two separate contracts, which is what I suspected. There is no chance this will work out, regardless how close the gates are to each other.

Where do you find these ? I want to challenge the travel agent. He issued a ticket with 45min layover.

ExpertFlyer. What has your travel agent issued, a single PNR with two tickets? Time to get a refund.
