As part of my RTW in F, I have a long haul from EZE to AKL on Dec 21 with NZ, a potential date of strike (arriving AKL on Dec 23 then on Dec 24 to SIN [via SYD]); if the strike is confirmed & on, can I reroute without observing the routing, airlines and max mileage rules? There’s really not much options ... out of EZE that’s my concern ...

Thanks ... the incoming flight only departs on Dec 21 at 20:15 and arriving EZE also on Dec 21 at 15:55. In theory, NZ can delay the flight for 3hr50 or 4hr to go around the strike (assuming no curfew at AKL and no issue with crew rest), and the return flight from EZE still have plenty of time to turnaround for an on time departure. Looking at LA flight it’s full on Dec 21 :-( ... I guess I need to keep looking or asking for something creative if this really happens.

Am I allowed to go back to Europe on the Singapore this is so far the only route I could find with seats at the moment and within the max mileage allowance (actually less mileage needed than original routing) using all Star members and getting me to SIN per original date/time but this of course would no longer be a RTW ... ?

I had experience on oneworld RTW involuntary change last year due to a 18 hr delay, a change could be made onto a non onewold carrier of same class of service without penalty and rules were waived - though the airlines wasn’t proactive unless requested for it.
