Updated *A RTW Spreadsheet (Updated 4.22.18)

I put this in another thread, but I figured it might get more views and such if it had its own. My apologies that I don't have it in the local currencies so that people can take advantage when there are big currency swings, but it'll get everyone started. It's possible I missed a country (or some other political entity), so let me know. There were a few countries that *A flies to that didn't have RTW fares filed (Mauritania and Slovakia jump to mind).

*A RTW Spreadsheet (Updated 4.22.18)

Lowest for different fares:
YRWSPCL: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $2,391
YRWSPCL1: United Kingdom - $2,850.31
YRWSPCL2: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $3,162
YRWSPCL3: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $3,779

YRWSTAR1: United Kingdom - $2,902.75
YRWSTAR2: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $3,471
YRWSTAR3: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $4,165

ERWSTAR1: Sweden - $4,324.44
ERWSTAR2: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $5,168
ERWSTAR3: Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau - $5,939

CRWSPCL: Pakistan - $6,256.65
CRWSTAR1: Japan - $6,569.62
CRWSTAR2: Japan - $7,654.46
CRWSTAR3: Pakistan - $8,928.10

FRWSTAR1: Japan - $10,624.99
FRWSTAR2: Canada - $11,873.64
FRWSTAR3: Canada - $13,536.06

Wow! This is great. Jayhawk, thank you.

Looks like North Korea is a good place to get F (after Japan and Canada).

Thanks a million for the great work!

Is there a wiki somewhere to explain all this to newbies?

Unterwegs Apr 22, 2018 2:53 pm

Let me try to help. There is a lot of information about these RTW fares in this forum and on the staralliance website.
This is from memory, I hope everything is correct.
The fiorst letter of the fare is the booking class
Y (eco) E (premEc) C (business) F (first)
SPCL and STAR1 STAR2 STAR3 is the max number of miles (1,2,3 are 29000, 34000, 39000)
You have to start in the specific country and usually also end there (some exceptions)
You can cross the lines between North+South America / Europe+Africa / Asia+Australia exactly once.
16 coupons max
First flight needs to be not later than 1 year after ticket purchase
Last flight not later than 1 year after first flight
Changes are possible (date changes mostly free, routing changes around 150 US$).

On All RTW Fares
  • Travel needs to begin and end in the same country
  • Travel needs to be in the same general direction, crossing the Atlantic and Pacific each once and once only
  • Stops lasting >24 hours need to happen in at least two cities

Tricky though since CA suspended their Pyongyang/Beijing flights last November....

How do you actually get these fares?

For example, on the spreadsheet it says a YRWSPCL from Canada should be $2474, but the Star Alliance booking engine says it will be a base fare of $2868.

I suspect the spreadsheet lists the base fares, the Booking Engine calculates the " surcharges" as well.

The booking engine seems to separate out surcharges and taxes as two additional line items
