Although the OP seems to have decided, another vote for AC. Both hard and soft product are way superior than LH and preclearance immigration while transferring in Canada is another plus.

Some benefits to consider as a GE transiting in YYZ/YUL (not accounting for flying UA vs. AC):

- you do not need to reclaim bags
- no need to change terminals vs. EWR (since many UA int'l arrive in B), IAD (non-UA to UA itinerary) and ORD
- YMMV, but generally better winter weather ops
