Am I being Crazy?

I am in YOW and need to be in India in early December and then again in late December. I am planning to take a side trip to Manila for a few days in between. On my way back from India in January, I would like to stop and visit DPS,SIN and KL. I think if I had to, I can manage in 39K.
The price for 39K from Canada in J class is about $10,500.00. An alternative for me is to buy a round trip from YOW to BKK via HKG in H class ( I am an SE with AC and can get upgraded until HKG) good for one year of travel and then start an RTW from BKK. The RTW portion from BKK seems to be less than $7,500.00 for 39K and I should be able to get YOW_BKK for 2,000.00 (??) for a total of $9,500.00 which is still cheaper than the Canadian RTW option and I get a free trip to BKK.

An intial itenirary could be:
1. YOW-YVR-HKG-BKK on H class
2. RTW: BKK-MUM-SIN-MNL-SIN-DEL/CCU-SIN-DPS-SIN/KL-HKG-YVR-YOW-YVR-HKG-BKK
3. BKK-HKG-YVR-YOW ( return of the H class ticket)

Does this make sense! Any other ideas on how I might be able to do it. Unfortunately, we need to go to India twice and also to south east Asia twice but have little choice due to things out of our control.

Thanks. Mukesh

Makes sense to me.

For the RTW portion, where is the trans-atlantic portion? Sorry, if I miss something when reading it.

Jes, mr. Soekarno Hatta is right. You cannot cross the Pacific twice on your RTW, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a RTW, would it?

So when returning to BKK at the end of step 2, you'll have to route through Europe. The fastest routing is probably YOW-YYZ-FRA-BKK using AC, LH and/or TG. Of course, given that there still are miles remaining, you could fly via US, or take a few sidetrips in Europe or whatever.

Your RTW portion is not round the world, as you won't have crossed the Atlantic, but that's easily fixed by heading east from YOW through Europe back to BKK. You're also right on the limit at SIN as 3 of your 4 times there will need to be transits only and the 4th must be as a stopover.

Retirement has made my mind a bit mush. You are right about the trans atlantic portion missing. I will need to fix that. Thanks all for your input. I also realized that if I started running out of allocated miles, I may be able to do the side trip to Manil on points. Anyone knows what are the back out periods if any on Singapore and Thai air?
