Any *-Alliance flight to Cairns?
 

I am planning a trip to Cairns in March. Will Ansett be part of the Alliance again or is there any other possibility to go there on an award ticket from Germany?
Brisbane is the closest I think but SQ offers just Raffles class to this desination and I want to burn my Airrail miles...

NZ flies AKL-CNS once a week.

Ansett are likely to be a member again real soon. Otherwise i only see the AKL-CNS in the system.

Out of intrest how many miles did you earn, and how much did it cost you ??

The trip would cost me 240000 miles which are 12 Airrail journeys. So I spend about $1500 for a first class trip to Australia! The normal fare from BRE to BNE with SQ is about $9000.

Ansett _will_ be part of the Star Alliance - that has been confirmed, but we are awaiting the final sale details to be worked out, and this could be problematical in terms of timings to get AN back into the * RTW fares - keep your eyes peeled here.

Otherwise it's NZ.
