Hi everyone ...

Can anybody confirm if I would get miles (in my VARIG account) flying SilkAir ( SQ regional subsidiary) ?!

If yes ,.. would the miles count for status ?

SilkAir is not considered a member of *A and as such does not earn FF miles for any *A program (except maybe SQ's KrisFlyer).

I have flown SilkAir several times this year and, like you MMM, I had the same questions at check-in.

You may try and see if SQ has any code share with Silk Air.

I flew on Pluna (owned by Varig) back 2 yrs ago and did not get any miles either.

I have only flown SilkAir to destinations in Indonesia. In my experience, I have never seen SQ codeshares on SilkAir. However, there are some Garuda codeshares on certain routes, such as SIN-BPN (Balikpapan). Unfortunately, this doesn't help in earning *A points.
