Is SAS the only one of the * members who offers yearcard for the customers? That means that you buy a card that give you as many trips as you want to a certain place, like domestic, Milano and London

This is interesting! Do you have more info on this yearcard? Are there any restricitons? What are the prices like? Are there any links to more detailed info? Thanks.

Please update us on the prices if you find out. I checked about a year ago, and they were quite expensive.

I dont agree that the Travelpasses are expensive. Well if you just travel a few times each month this isnt the best deal for you but if you are traveling several times each week it doesnt take long to fly in the amount for the travelpass. With a 12month travelpass you also get gold status directly. That means I could be a gold member tomorrow if I want(and have the money of course)

kempis: we (non-scandinavians) can't judge - unless you give as the price-idea and the mileage/points-rules for such flights on those passes - PLEASE.

They seem to have take away the prices from the website(atleast I cant find them) A domestic travelpass in Sweden cost around 175.000SEK. Then you could travel on all SK flights and most of JZ(Skyways) flights. You could travel as much you like, twice a day if you like, you earn 1200pts(miles) for every OW on SK.

Kempis -- Yes, I agree that it could be a good value depending on your travel patterns. A person who flies almost every day and has little or no advance notice could save quite a bit. But if you just travel weekly it doesn't make as much sense (Copenhagen-Århus gets as low as USD32 RT, with restrictions).

UA offers the same type of system where you purchase a certain number of miles. You automatically get PremExec (I think).

A friend did it before she had her baby--price per mile was more than restricted tkts but less than unrestricted tkts--she investigated each flight she took during the year and used it when it saved $$ but skipped it when she didn't.

I can't remember what the program is called, but they have a banner at the Px/1K counters at O'Hare.

AA offers an AAirpass card which is sort of like UA's. You buy a certain number of flight miles and I think they also give you an Admiral's Club membership. But it isn't really comparable to SK's offering, since there is a version of the Travelpass which offers unlimited travel as long as the card is valid.

Our company uses AAirpass, and the price is no good deal. Only if you fly business class during the summer travel season. I have always gotten a better deal (up to 50% less) on LH.

If someone feels a burning need for Eurobonus miles: buy a 1-year unlimited Travelpass for SAS and Skyways (SAS regional partner) for ~USD 17500 + VAT. Then travel constantly while the travelpass is valid. With 1200 miles/segment this would easily add up to > 4 million Eurobonus miles if you're willing to travel 16 h/day 365 days. Pretty good value, and you'd get a lot of flight time for the money.

Does Continental offer something like the AAirpass?

Dont forget that every 20th SK business class OW gives you another 5000 bonus EB points.

If you travel alot you could quite easy reach more then 1.000.000 points in a year. 1.000.000 is enough for 10 business class tickets with Varig from Copenhagen to Brazil.
