I have a simple solution.

Create a new * Alliance frequent flyer program and then give every * Alliance flyer the option to accrue the miles on the * Alliance program or on the individual carrier's own program.

Flyers would be able to transfer miles from individual programs to the * Alliance program but not from the * Alliance program to the individual carrier's program.

That should keep everone happy
