ROP vs KrisFlyer

Hi All,

Please give some advise, will be easy to retain *A gold with ROP or KF?
I asking to confirm my understanding is correct.

ROP = Once gold, least for 2 yrs, and retain by 80 000 miles in 2yrs?
KF = Once gold, least for 1 yrs and retain by 50 000 in 1 yrs?

I am not familiar with KF, but you are correct about TG ROP.

You cannot compare only on the points and years... Yes, it is nice that you keep ROP Gold for two years, but it may be harder to reach the amount of the Q miles required...

Agreeable, but if ChampagneSocialist is correct. 2yrs for 80,000 miles is 40,000 per year and that is still lesser than KF 50,000/yrs. On top of that, although i am a Singaporean, SQ is usually 1.5 to 2 times more expensive.

But do you earn full credit on the cheaper fares (in either program)? Often the cheaper fares earn only partial credit so you'll end up paying near the same and/or needing to fly more on cheap fares to net the same points as fewer flights on more expensive fares.

And is the extra stop (and time) en route worth the cost savings?

You get full credit on cheapo United fares with KF, that's why I'm with them currently. I looked at TK but most of the fares I'd be flying on would be 0% earning to TK. So while yes the 2 year thing is really attractive, it all depends on what fares you're buying. If you are buying J then pick whatever, if you're getting flexible econ, then I'd look hard at TK. If you're flying cheap for leisure like me, TK isn't really relevant unfortunately.
