I'm assuming you haven't had an opportunity to check out the updated NZ lounge yet? Prior to May 2017 I would have agreed with you, but then NZ underwent a renovation and major expansion (good photos in this article). Although I enjoy both lounges, now I actually prefer NZ over SQ. Great booze selection (I am partial to a good NZ cider...), barista bar, many times more space than SQ, newer facilities, and a slightly broader selection of food than SQ as well. ^

^^ I have always enjoyed NZ's f&b offerings. Sounds like I will have to book myself a breakfast time flight next time - I am yet to have a chance to try the omelette bar - sounds great.
