How a split fare on a direct flight will credit

This isn't really a question, but an experience. UA323 is PHL-DEN-YVR. I was originally booked on UA323 PHL-DEN in G and then a different flight from DEN-Canada. Due to irrops, I was rebooked in DEN onto UA323 DEN-YVR in Y.

The general rule for direct flights is that the mileage credit we receive doesn't take into account how many stops there are (so UA323 PHL-DEN-YVR would credit as though it were only PHL-YVR). When you have a split fare, as in my case (UA 323 PHL-DEN G, UA 323 DEN-YVR Y), it credits segment-by-segment. The more you know

That is dependent on how the rebooking was processed. You could just as easily have ended up with PHL-YVR in Y.

I once flew BOS-ORD-SEA on a single flight number and hit IRROPS in ORD. I ended up getting credit for both BOS-SEA and ORD-SEA. So to me, it sounds like you got unlucky :p

There are waaay too many variables at play to determine how flights will credit with any kind of reliability during invol rebookings.

I'm especially unlucky since I was rebooked onto AC B class but stood by for an earlier flight and it credited as AC G class
