Retroactive claim for Turkish Airlines
Hello - frequent lurker, first time poster.
My S.O. flew 18k miles on TK around new years, but wasn't enrolled in any *A FFP at the time. I was looking to see if there's any way to claim those miles, and so far I've found that TK allows retroactive credits going back up to 1 year regardless of your FFP join date (see Q&A No. 23). This is great except we're US based and rarely fly TK, so those miles would be orphaned. As far as I can tell, Miles and Smiles points are only useful for award tickets or upgrades (and 18k miles aren't really useful for a US flyer).
Are there any better options for recovering/converting those miles? I'm willing to pay a small fee like United's $50 6 month pre-enrollment mileage crediting fee.
Thanks!
