LH vs NH
Hi Flyertalkers!
I would like to get some opinion on an itinerary I booked with my UA miles. I'm currently booked: BKK(TG F)-NRT-FRA-JFK(LH F) I'm considering changing to NRT-JFK (NH F) or NRT-FRA (NH C) I won't be able to use the FCT in FRA as I can't access the schengen area, so that won't be a factor for me. Also, if I take NH, would 1:10 be enough for transit and lounge access? Let me know what you all think. Thanks for the input, much appreciated! |
Are you on LH F on NRT-FRA?
Both NH F and LH F are somewhat different, but excellent. I would pick the shorter flying time. |
Just for information if you fly NRT-FRA-JFK in LH F you can access the FCL B in FRA and will be driven to your flight without having to enter Schengen. However, I don't think you can fly FRA-JFK on LH after arriving from NRT without overnighting in FRA. What are you planning to do in FRA if you stick to your current plan to fly BKK(TG F)-NRT-FRA-JFK(LH F)?

NH is switching NRT-FRA to HND-FRA instead starting 3/30, so basically if you don't have at least 4 hour connection for NRT-HND transfer, you would not even able to make it. At NRT, 1:10 is enough for transfer but not for lounge access, as TG tend to use gate 40s and NH use gate 50s, you have to go down and walk the long tunnel, not to mention there is a security check when your plane land. |
I'm already booked NRT - FRA(LH F) arrives at 14:05 - JFK(LH F) departs 17:25.
Connection time and flying time is not an issue for me. I think at this point I'm wondering if NH F (NRT-JFK still available) is worth letting go two LH F flights. Thanks! |

Thanks for all the comments. After some re-route and research I decided to book NRT-JFK in NH F, and to Bangkok on the date I want, I was able to book JFK-FRA-KIX-BKK all in F too.
