Which *A has best baggage allowances?
I'm looking at flights from LHR-BKK that I'll be booking with UA miles. I am booking in Y for a passenger with no status.
I'm trying to figure out which airline has the best baggage allowance. So far Thai seems to be the worst (1 bag 20kg, $55 each additional kg) and Egyptair the best (2 bags, 23kg each). Not a lot of Egyptair flights, though. LH offers one 23kg bag and an additional one for 150 eur. Do any of the other *A carriers offer two bags or a relatively cheap addition of a second bag? |
You mention that you're booking in J - for LH the J allowance is 2 pieces up to 32kg each. (LH baggage page)

Sorry, that was wishful thinking. I edited it to say economy.

http://www.thaiairways.com/plan-your...cy_23JUL12.htm SQ gives 30kg for Y passenger. MS really gives you 2 pcs at 23kg each! So they are your best bet! They have daily flights connecting between LHR and BKK in CAI. |
Thanks, Guy Betsy! I didn't realize that SQ had upped their allowance. I wasn't able to get a flight on MS (I'm doing an award booking through UA) so I went with SQ.
My only concern is that it says on my receipt that I have a 20kg baggage allowance. Is this something I should worry about? I assume it's just because they haven't updated their systems since SQ changed their baggage policy. |
