Along the lines of the above, because I'd want to go west bound from JNB and tour africa as well, wouldnt it be easier (and perhaps cheaper) to start elsewhere in asia/africa (to avoid jumping into the 39000 tier).

HKG-(XXX)-ADD-NBO-CAI-DAR-JNB-EZE-LIM-SCL-BOG-[(SAL-SFO)/EWR]-HKG-(XXX)

all stopovers except in NA. GCMap says route is 33xxx miles

XXX = YRWSTAR2 starting point.
HKG is where i live.

i see from http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/star-...-2011-a-6.html ex ADD it's 3463 USD but i dont know how updated it is...

may I also be informed what exHKG pricing is?

and this page says ex JNB is 3711(34K)/4596(39k) miles.

any way i can improve /max ticket value (miles wise)

edit1: In order to take advantage of ex-ZA, am i better off starting from CPT, so i wouldnt need to "return to origin city"? So, effectively HKG-JNB-CPT for repositioning, CPT-JNB-XXXXXXX-JNB-EZE-XXXXXXXX-JNB for ticketing purpose.
