Best options to BRU?
Doing RDU-BRU flexible dates mid to late May. What are the best aircraft options for cabin, entertainment, etc. to this destination? Need to get one RT ticket thru an award booking...

what cabin are you hoping for?

If you fly UA metal it is an old school 767. In my opinion it is a terrible aircraft with poor in flight entertainment. Might try LH.

Most likely econ...but I just did a search and almost all of those are 55K, only 1 with multiple stops is 30K, so maybe will just splurge and do first for 67.5K...I always fly Delta but I'm using a family member's UA account for this. Don't know much about their aircrafts but I remember flying their 2-5-2 777 over the pond and that was pretty bad. Do any of the continental cabins go to BRU?

All UA 763s have 2-2-2 flat beds in C/J and big screen individual IFE. You might be mixing up TATL 763s with domestic 762 "ghetto birds", but even they are being upgraded to flat beds. |
SN (Brussels Airlines) has a new business class on their JFK-BRU route which looks really good: http://travel.bart.la/2012/06/09/bru...-jfk-brussels/
You could fly RDU-IAD-JFK-BRU...award availability seemed to be pretty good in C last time I looked. Otherwise, I do like UA's new lie-flat seat on their 763's and some of the 777's. Availability IAD-BRU tends to be pretty good. Another option could be IAD-VIE on Austrian's new business class. |
Air Canada?
AC has a connection via YYZ, YUL. The trans-Atlantic portion is on a 763 but the biz upgrades are available and the service is pretty good.
