Just a heads up for anyone trying to make an award reservation. 4/20 is/was the drop dead date for bmi's membership in Star Alliance. (Learned this the hard way while trying to book LHR-ADD on BD).

Hopefully that still means that flights on BD before 4/20 will earn us miles in UA.

I am flying to Casablanca today on bmi and have used my UA number, so I hope so too. Especially as no BA Tier Points are earned for this flight.

Benefits will continue until 31/5 for everyone but Miles&More.

You can still use DC miles to book awards on *A carriers other than LH Group of airlines (LH, LX, OS, SN) until 31 May 2012. Check this thread for more info.

I have just gone on 2 long haul trips with Star Alliance members and used my BMI Diamond card number against the booking. I really want to get to gold with Star Alliance. I already have a BA Gold card and wanted an alternative scheme. Any ideas what I can do now? Do I have to start from scratch? Can I transfer my Diamond Club Status miles somehow or try to claim these miles on my Swiss account?

You might be able to use your gold status with BA to get a *A carrier to give you a challenge (fly X miles within X months and get *G).
