HKG - NRT by UA
I did search on the star alliance site for the flight between HKG and NRT,
but it didn't show UA's flights (UA78 and 79). Do you know any reason (or any tip to make it appear ?). |
Random date in June - at least the flights seem still to exist, but on a 738

Unterwegs, thanks for replying.
Yes, they do exist and are bookable, for example, on united.com . But they don't appear on staralliance.com, which is a problem, for example, when using their fare calculator (such as RTW) and that made me wondering why. |

Could be that they are ashamed running a US domestic plane when everybody has a widebody with real business class? ANA would be better choice anyhow?

CO (oops, UA) has no sense of shame.
Sure I'm disappointed that UA doesn't have a premium plane on the NRT-HKG route because it's an easy route for me to score my 4x UA metal segments to maintain elite status but I'm happy that they at least have the route now, the schedule is pretty decent compared to all *A except NH. (NH does allow leaving TYO later Friday evening and returning later in the afternoon from HKG on Sunday) |
I agree, using B737 on routes like NRT-HKG/GUM is a shame, but I hope
they'll make it better (like they introduced E+ on former CO planes after the merger). I also agree dvs7310, it's nice to have these routes, because, for example, some of upgrades used to expire before, but now they can be used these routes. |
