Lounge options SYD

Flying SFO-SYD in FC and connecting to either QF or Virgin Aust. to Cairns and looking like only conx that will work is +5hrs. Do I have any options as *G to use a lounge in SYD?

EDIT: Oops... sorry... my note below only works if you're departing on a *A flight.

Try this handy lounge locator tool on the united.com web site.

With respect to *A lounges, you can use the NZ Koru Lounge, SQ Krisflyer Lounge and the contract lounge. Not sure what the contract lounge is though... I've never been. I prefer the SQ lounge over the NZ lounge.

I would avoid the Koru Lounge n SYD. Its size is decent but the food options are dire when it comes to the afternoon and the view to the apron is not good except for late afternoon flights landing in.

Very disappointing over all.

the problem is the departing flight is not *A, so a *A *G arriving premium cabin customer has no access to *A departure lounges.

New Zealand Lounge!

When we're transiting through SYD on our way back to SFO we come early to join the throngs at the Koru Lounge. Food is better than United C and we really enjoy the hot dogs. Annie (the Rock Star-see Hemispheres Feb) is also there, to help with any last minute SNAFUs.

I am not sure about the arrivals: going on to MEL we could use the lounge. Transferring to Qantas or Virgin we did not....there is a thread somewhere about finding an Arrivals type lounge. What class are you flying in Australia? That may help w access if you are in Business or First.

Koru Lounge SYD is bearable - food and drink options not bad .

Free wifi, view of the tarmac and access to a United Agent if you need one.

Have seen a lot worse.

I'm pretty sure that the QF and VA SYD-CNS flights leave from the domestic terminal meaning no lounge access after arrival. Nada.

Even if you had physical access to the terminal where the SQ and NZ lounges are you would not be departing on a *A flight and therefore not eligible to enter.

No lounge for you.
