A380 in *A?

Apologize if this has been discussed. Which other carrier(s) besides LH, SQ, & OZ currently have or have ordered the A380?

TG.

I think that is all.

dinoscool3 Sep 3, 2011 11:07 pm

LH, SQ, OZ and TG are the only *A carriers with orders for A380s.

Thanks. I know both SQ & LH have a few on hand, and OZ won't be getting any for a few years. What about TG? Has it started flying any?

I doubt TG will ever fly A380...

PVDtoDEL Sep 4, 2011 2:57 am

TG is talking about cancelling their orders

NewbieRunner Sep 4, 2011 4:52 am

At least TG's logo has not been painted over yet. :p

Would not hold my breath with TG, they have been hemming and hawing on the A380 for a while, OZ, would not hold my breath either.

I am puzzled by OZ's order, too. ICN isn't exactly a slot-restricted airport, so if there is increase in demand on any given route, it wouldn't be too difficult for OZ to put on another A333 or B777 to increase capacity. There is talk that OZ ordered the A380 because KE did. Oh, well! We shall see how it turns out.

According to the xls Airbus publishes, the following have placed orders for A380s

Airbus Executive and private Jets 1
AIR AUSTRAL 2
AIR FRANCE 12
ASIANA AIRLINES 6
BRITISH AIRWAYS 12
CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES COMPANY 5
EMIRATES 90
ETIHAD AIRWAYS 10
KINGFISHER AIRLINES 5
KOREAN AIR 10
LUFTHANSA 15
MALAYSIA AIRLINES 6
QANTAS AIRWAYS 20
QATAR AIRWAYS 5
SINGAPORE AIRLINES 19
SKYMARK AIRLINES * 6

The Kingfisher and Thai orders are pretty much cosmetic and will probably disappear soon.

All except EK's order is for 20 or less. What's EK going to do with 90 of them??

It's going to replace all it's routes with A380s ;) But I think EK is nuts.

I'm with you. I think they're overestimating their growth which is evident by changes in metal over the "bagel" aka recession.
