Advice travelling D Class RTW
Hello Everyone,
I'm a little stuck. I need to do LHR-GRU on the 24th but as of now D class for TAM is at 0 seats. For just about 10 minutes it went to 7 seats available and then went back to 0 as per the AMEX ITN tool. I took that 10-minute opportunity to call United and request for a seat. Still waiting though (12-hour window not yet up)
So here are my questions:
1. What in your opinion is the best booking tool for *A RTW? KVS? Online services? etc.
2. What in your opinion could have happened for 7 seats to be available for such a short time? Glitch? Group of 7 making changes?
3. Not finding any D class availability for inbound GRU flights from Europe on that date (or one day later). Tried LHR, FRA, and CDG. Any idea of whats going on in GRU / Brazil?
4. For a price, am I allowed to upgrade my class to F for only one segment in an RTW ticket?
Thank you in advance everyone.

KVS, Expertflyer, seatcounter etc all do the job.
It is not uncommon to not find D availability at such short notice. After all, the flight is in less than a week. Similar issues exist on many route and with many airlines.
The flight btw is very full.

There are reports that people were able to do cash upgrades of individual segments but of course this is very YMMV. And also, there is only one F seat left and at full fare F.
Maybe confirm in Y and hope for a D seat to open up?
The 7 seats you have seen might have just been while some waitlists were cleared.
