Reward Flights from Boston (BOS) to Minsk (MSQ)/Kiev (KPB)

I credit my Star Alliance flights to United (usually fly UA domestically and LH for Europe).

Aside from using miles for upgrades, I would like to use the miles for international awards. What's the best *A carrier to use? Also, I tried using the ANA international award tool, but can't get past the first screen since there isn't an option for Minsk or Kiev.

Both LH and OS fly to both cities. What class are you thinking of traveling in?

I don't mind flying economy, but prefer to fly business. For paid trips, I actually fly LH to MSQ and KPB. My concern is just getting the most value for my UA miles. What system should I be using to check award availability?

ANA. You need to follow the notes on how to work around their recent limitations but it is still the best way to find availability for *A partners.

Due to being denied a visa to Belarus (twice!) I have now made three separate LH award reservations to MSQ over the past three months. The good news is, it's usually wide open if you can get to FRA. As mentioned, OS is also an option and also tends to have good availability to MSQ once you're in Europe.

Maybe LO is not the best option, but if LH/OS don't have any redemption availability you may also look at LO via NYC or YYZ and WAW.

Just beware that they code-share with VV (WAW-KBP) and B2 (WAW-MSQ) and there will be no Star Gold benefits (extra baggage, lounge access) if you use VV or B2 metal flights.
