checking luggage through on lay/stop-over
 

Flying PEK-HKG-IST-FRA with a 30 hour stopover in HKG. Would it be possible to check the luggage through (heavy shopping in Beijing!).

If not could I recheck at HKG before the overnight? And all needs to go through customs again? Storage at airport?

30 hours - I would say impossible to check through. That is not a connection, it is a
stop-over. Customs in HK is a breeze, just walk through the doors.
There are facilities to store luggage at the airport, turn right just as you exit the
customs hall.

It sure is a stopover, although handled as a layover by US CSR (having other stopover). We will be travelling with huge bags with a lot of products/samples, and I was worried if HK customs would have some limitation on value, or caring if some would be fakeproducts (as you never know in China..)
