Transfer CAN-PEK

Folks,

I'm flying to CAN on *A and have a connecting flight to PEK 3h later on CA.

1. Can I check my luggage through?
2. How is the transfer in CAN? Do I have to go from international to domestic airport?
3. Any reports about this transit situation?

Hope someone can help out with informations...

CAN is a pretty new nice airport. Domestic and International are in different areas in the same airport building. It is a short walk from international arrivals to domestic departures. 3 hours should be plenty.

Never tried it in CAN, but usually you cannot check luggage thru to domestic flights in China. At least i never was successful. You need to clear customs at CAN. Not like in Europe where usually you clear customs at the final destination.

Lounges typical don't have much food, the eating places inside are typically dramatically overpriced. If you want something to eat look for some place outside security.

OK.
But shouldn't it work to check through from SQ to CA?

If not I have to claim m luggage at the belt have to go out, walk to domestic and then check in again?
Well this is crap if this is the way...

I agree with unterwegs. But there was a lot of construction and remodelling work at CAN when I flew through just 2 months back, so maybe it's improved.

To put it into context, you're changing airlines from int'l to domestic in a country which is learning to cope with a massive rise in air traffic and putting infrastructure into place very quickly. So don't be too surprised if there are hiccups.

Lounges in Mainland China are generally a far cry from that of other Asian countries, similar to RCCs in the US.

Try flying from anywhere in the world to USA, then connect to another
flight either in USA or international - you have to do the same thing.
You must clear customs and immigration at your first point of landing.
And USA does not allow international - USA - international transits without
clearing customs and immigration - something which most of the rest of
the world does allow.

So why is it " crap" if it happens in China?
