Baggage Allowance

I'm flying Bangalore to Newark through Continental. Since Continental does not fly from Bangalore directly I'm flying Kingfischer from Bangalore to Bombay. Then I take Continental from Bombay to Newark.

I'm a star gold. Will Kingfischer honor the Baggage allowed by Continental for Star Gold? Does anybody have any experience.

I did contact the airliner. I'm getting conflicting answers.

I don't see why Kingfischer would have to. Unless maybe you booked that flight under a CO flight number. KF isn't a member of Star Alliance as far and I can tell. So you'll probably have to pay for baggage.

You are subject to IT's rules on checked baggage as they are the carrier with whom you will interact to deposit the bags.

Thank You.

Its true that the baggage allowance depends on Kingfisher's policy. However when I traveled last month with a similar itinerary KF -> Continental, I asked the check in agent whether they would honor the baggage allowance what Continental offered. The answer was YES.

I have written to their customer care. I'm waiting to hear from them as I cannot go by the word of mouth.

Does anybody have any first hand experience?

Also, when I traveled last month, KF did honor my Delta GOLD status and allowed me lounge access although KF is not a part of Skyteam either. They just partner with Delta.
