BBC: Star Alliance applies for Pacific antitrust immunity

Lead paragraph: United Airlines, Continental Airlines and All Nippon Airways have applied for antitrust immunity so they can work together on flights across the Pacific.

This has been in discussion since CO announced they'd be joining *A. With the new open-skies between USA and Japan it is a no-brainer. They're going to own a TON of the traffic on those routes. Some other interesting analysis on it here: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/things...rust-immunity/.
