High Big Front Seat Cost
I have not flown Spirit for about a year and was looking up prices on a trip from PIT-LAX. The fare is just under $300 total roundtrip but the big front seat cost is an additional $279 extra each way which is more than double what I have seen in the past. Do prices usually come down closer to departure (trip about 1.5 months away) or are these high prices here to stay? Once I include the cost of a bag and the big front seat, the price is about $70 more than First Class on a legacy carrier (although Spirit is the only nonstop option). Thanks!

If you log out and use a new IP address the price might be lower. I have the same problem with the MCO-LAS flights non-stop at $238. Also connecting flights may have a lower big seat costs like MCO-IAH-LAS

I think it's all algorithmically priced, so they charge what they think you (or someone) will pay.
I have noticed, anecdotally, that BFS are getting more expensive. |
Shock to see BFS for TPA to LAS is $287. With the baggage fee, I may as well fly legacy airlines.

Try out the seat bids if you are willing to take the risk for not getting Big Front, usually a lot cheaper than the price prior to departure.
