Collect & re-check bag at MAD without going through immigration/security
Hi all,
im flying from London to Madrid on one ticket.
Then flying Madrid to Costa Rica on a separate ticket.
All flights are with BA and Iberia and are in the 4s terminal building.
Is it possible for me to collect my London to Madrid check in bag at MAD and check it in again for my Madrid to San Jose flights without clearing customs/immigration/security?
in other words, can i collect my bag and check it in for my next flight, whilst staying airside?

Hi,
This will not be possible.
To collect your bags you will need to pass immigration, take the train to T4 the main terminal , collect your bags at baggage reclaim , exit customs, check in at the departure level then go through security and immigration to get back to T4S for your costa rica flight.
How long do you have between flights?
