Question Caiscas vs Lisbon for a 21-hour layover in Portugal?

A week from Sunday, I arrive in Lisbon from Dublin at 1:15 pm and continue the next day to San Francisco at 10 am. I've been to and loved Lisbon on previous visits, but just learned that good friends will be visiting Caiscas (which I've never been to) that day, so may join them there for dinner. (For what it's worth if it saves me any time at the airport, I'd be flying TAP Portugal business class for both legs of the trip.) A few questions:

1. I could simply stay in or near Caiscas overnight. If so, how much would a taxi cost each way, to and from the airport? (And is Uber an advisable alternative?)
2. How bad would the traffic be each way?
3. Might a car rental be a better option? If so, how easy would it be to drive to and from the airport?
4. At this time of year, is Caiscas and the surrounding area very crowded on a Sunday?
5. If I decided to stay in Lisbon overnight instead, but still visit my friends for dinner in Caiscas, about how much would a train or taxi cost each way and would you advise one or the other?

Any other advice would be very welcome. Thanks!

1. You could. I'd suggest uber over a taxi for a number of reasons, including price and service quality. You should be able to check in your uber app.
2. At 1PM on a Sunday? No traffic. At 7-9AM on a weekday- enough to have it take an hour from Cascais to the Airport. GMaps provides decent estimates of drive times.
3. It depends. While rental prices are dirt cheap offseason (8-9€), the hassle of picking it up and returning it may negate any €€ savings you'll make.
4. Not normally, though you'll see many day trippers during the day.
5. The train is 2.25€ (and runs every 10-30 mins, depending on day of week/time of day), check cp.pt from Cascais to Cais do sodré to see the full timetable. The train takes 30-40 mins (depending on whether it's a limited or a local; all local trains on Sundays). Check your uber app to see.

I'm showing 26€ on Bolt from Cascais to the Airport and around 23€ from Cascais to Lisbon center. Uber will probably be a bit more expensive.

The last time I picked up a rental car at LIS, there were huge (hour plus) lines and Hertz Gold (normally skip the counter but not here) service didn't help much. It looked even worse at the cheaper/local rental car agencies that had lines stretching outside of their areas and down the corridor. The drive to Cascais should be fine and pretty easy, depending on where specifically you need to go in Cascais, but the return to the airport will be during rush hour. Moreover, when I did the drive from Cascais to LIS for my return flight in the afternoon, I found the signposts on the roads to be confusing and not easy as it's not a matter of following one road straight. Despite thinking that I knew what to do, I managed to do something wrong and drove much farther than necessary, causing me to come close to missing my flight.

Question Estoril to Lisbon question

A very belated thanks, folks. As it turns out, I've ended up at the Intercontinental Estoril. Any estimate of how long a taxi/Uber should take to the Lisbon Airport at about 7:15 am tomorrow (Monday) morning? Googlemaps says 30-45 minutes, but I wonder if that's too low, especially since the forecast is for rain.

A belated reply - AM rush hour starts around 8:30, so 30-45 min is reasonable.
