Barcelona: what is there to know
What part of the city should I look to stay in? (I would like be near the nightlife/(bars and clubs)
What are the major/main streets of the area?
What clubs/bars do you recommend?
What are some rooftop venues with a good views of the city?
Food/Restaurant Recommendations?

You can stay almost anywhere, as public transportation is easy and cheap. Beach area has a ton of nightclubs and bars. Hotel Arts if you have a ton of points or price is not a concern.
While not rooftop, I love the tapas restaurant,Tapa Tapa Maremagnum. In a touristy place, but right on the harbor, great views, good tapas.
There are some great beer bars with local brews. Kælderkold in the Gothic quarter. L'Ovella Negra Marina is another. Biercab is great, as is Garage.
La Rambla is the main tourist street. Walk down it once and then never go back.
