Goldcar Rentalcar at Malaga Airport

Hi everyone

I made a booking with booking.com for a car hire for 8 days at Malaga airport. I done this weeks in advance and paid approx 15 in total to booking.com for the entire 8 day trip.

On arrival at Malaga, I was forced into buying their fully comprehensive insurance package even although I protested I didnt want it because I have EU cover with my bank. They told me that due to a change in law that I would need to buy it and they couldn't fully speak English so there was that barrier.

Having come off a flight with my wife and newborn baby at midnight, I didn't argue or complain as we were all tired.

Do I have a leg to stand on? I did email Booking.com the next day and they simply told me to contact Goldcar as they have nothing to do with it.

Thanks in advance.

Does the written record show that you were forced to buy a mandatory service, or does it show that you agreed to buy an optional service?

Goldcar is known for using these tactics.
