Options with the upcoming strike
 
We are supposed to leave the end of Oct from Boston to Madrid, then onto Tenerife and will be effected by the strike, if it happens.

I called American Airlines to see what our options would be and they said they knew nothing about the possible strike. Really????

I've never had a strike happen, so I'm wondering what our options are. We have trip insurance. Should we try to fly out the day before the strike? If so, how long do we wait to see if that's possible? What are some other options I'm not thinking of?
