Even if you were to make it to the airside departure area you wouldn't be in luck: the lounges are for departing passengers.

Looks as though you are going to have to pay for that snack - but don't worry, Lisbon is not short of cafes, and you won't break the bank visiting one.
Haha thanks Ian. I have to wait about an hour for someone else to arrive at LIS so it was a technique to kill some time as well. Very excited about food in Lisbon.

There are a couple of cafes in the meet&greet of the land-side arrivals area. You can keep watch for your friends emerging from customs.

As for the rest of Lisbon - just stay away from the $$lobster$$ .
