Malaga or Majorca??
Want to book a week away in April but really can't decide on whether to go to Malaga or Majorca.
Both destinations will be hotels on the coast and it's just going to be a relaxing holiday for the two of us with sand, sea, sun, sangria etc etc. Has anyone been to both before? If so, which would you recommend for a relaxing week? Price wise they are pretty much identical so I don't even have that to sway me. Merry Christmas BTW :D |
I've been to both, and I would say Majorca. Even though both are full of hotels and resorts, and are very touristy, being an island, I think Majorca still keeps a bit of natural enchant. If that is what you're after, of course.

Majorca for sure! The landscapes on the island are great for exploring/walking, and the food available across the island is to die for. Don't get stuck in one of the "resort" towns with the rest of the Brits, find something off the beaten track and you will have a fabulous holiday!

This is a really nice place to stay in Majorca.

La Residencia used to be Branson's hotel.....(expensive) but it is nicely located, (no real beach) and could still be a tad chilly..... Mallorca has a "spine"" of mountains that runs broadly from the S.W.(Andratax) to the N.E. (Pollenca) and Deia, where this hotel is located is roughly midway, not far from Soller and Puerto de Soller.
I would probably look for somewhere on the East Coast where it should be warmer , Somewhere like Cala D'or or similar..... April is fairly early..... and it really depends what you are looking for... but I would choose Mallorca over Malaga unless you are keen to visit Granada, Seville, or GIB....... I always find Malaga far more 'blingy' but if that is your thing then why not. Malaga is also a good few hundred miles further south and there are plenty of nice places to stay in Nerja.... Enjoy your Self! |
Vote for Malaga personally. I've been to both (a lot) and often find the weather to be better. Both can be lovely little trips though.

There is a Spain forum, you know.

Malaga or Majorca??
Malaga gets my vote. Went to Majorca three years ago and didn't enjoy anything like as much
