Hello chewylouie,

As we have a dedicated Iberian forum, I'll move this thread over there. Please continue to follow this topic in the Spain/Portugal/Gibraltar forum.

in bcn, most are in the middle of nowhere. also have all the feeling of a 5* hilton, rc, or starwood in florida, or hawaii. don't know about madrid.

Sorry, UR = ?

I'm going to guess here that it is Chase Ultimate Rewards from a credit card in the USA? (that needed a google search, and is a guess).

Many people who frequent this section will not know anything about how Chase points work, although they do or might know about Madrid hotels.

And I very much doubt any hotel 'takes UR points', rather Chase lets you book hotels using them? Via a travel partner? Whitelabel?

If it is about booking using UR points (and IF UR does mean Chase Ulitmate Rewards), then I suggest you post in the Credit Card section:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...-programs-599/

Do you know how you book? What hotels does it give you? How does it price them? By Star category? Flat rate? People in this section will mostly have no idea about this.

If you have a list of Madrid hotels, and/or locations, then people might be able to tell you which is better etc.....

That may sound blunt, but it is accurate if you want the best answer you can get from FT. You need to get a question in front of the right sets of eyes.

I don't know about bcn, but for mad I'd look into the Intercontinental Madrid if you transfer your ur points to priority club/ihg. Marriott also has a number of AC hotels in Madrid. I don't have any personal experience with Intercontinental or any of the AC hotels.

Spain hotel help

Sadly I don't think you will get the best return on your UR points in Spain. IMHO the best UR hotel redemption partner is Hyatt and they don't have any properties in Spain. The other UR hotel partners will end up costing you more points for example the IC Madrid will require 30k PC points. (Which is actually one of the cheaper PC IC redemptions.)
