A few updates at this link. Looks like specific flights to be announced in about October.

Apparently WN is going to start serving food now too. Maybe someone at HQ is following this thread and kicked the suggestion upward?

Another update, It appears that WN is going to use ground level boarding gates at HNL.

Here is is a quote from the article:
Airport changes: "We intend to have gates at obviously all four of the airports we've announced in the islands. In Honolulu, we're having our own area built up. It was the area Island Air started before they unfortunately went bankrupt, and so we'll continue that, and it'll be ground-loading at the end of the Diamond Head concourse. We think it will be a new space, we think people will love it, and we can't wait to provide hospitality to visitors and for locals."

Yes, it's very comfortable. They have good legroom. Other airlines who got 28'' inches. It's so terrible. That's not good.

Yes, as long if they serving food for Hawaii flight. I think they will have to install ovens in the front & back of the aircraft. I think they would like to have Hawaiian foods or something like that.

So I'm assuming they are serving Hawaii with the -800's/MAX8's? No horrid -700's?

Thanks for the link.

Could Southwest buy Hawaiian Airlines? Andy said quite emphatically no.” He said that airlines are very expensive currently and that such a move would not make sense.”

HA is at a P/E of 6 with a yield of over 1%.

That’s RIDICULOUSLY cheap for a public company, unless you expect WN to crush them.

And ground the new Lie-Flat A330 Business Class? Don't expect it.

JetBlue has a P/E of about 5.5 thru mid-June, and a yield of zero. It still had a Market Cap of about $6 Billion. $6 Billion is real money in the U.S. airline business.

A more truthful answer might have been of the form 'We don't want to buy somebody's problems. Integration is tough work.'

737-800 then MAX8. SWA has said this in a few articles. Too lazy to google. All with the roomy seats w/ 32" pitch

Yes, it will operated 737-MAX8 or 737-800 aircraft. Either way if they can fly the 737-MAX7 is only for Denver or Houston to Hawaii flight.

Right! I think they will start the 737-800 aircraft with ETOPS overwater certified by FAA approval.
