Well, the extension didn't happen this morning. My new guess is Thursday, January 11 at 10AM Central Time for travel through mid-June.

Doesn't look like it was today either. I want to book MDW-PHL on May 11-13 to see the Cubs play the Phillies. And I have a conference in Dallas immediately thereafter.

Come on, Southwest, extend the schedule already!

Something unusual must be going on. The earnings call is on the 17th, so I suppose they're cooking up a surprise (maybe a new city?) for release on the 17th or 18th.

My new prediction is 10 AM on the 17th. Failing that, 10 AM on the 18th

New city or big change? That sounds likely.

I never understood why SWA did not service Minn. (MSP) or from an airport near by. From what I have seen, NWA has these routes dominated and SW flights to DEN, MDW, PHX, LAS would likely do very well.

A new city announcement would definitely be worth the wait. MSP would be a total gold mine for Southwest.

Why? DTW hasn't been.

I'm excited at the thought of a new city, but I doubt that is what's up WN's sleeve. Gary Kelly has repeatedly said that WN does not have enough aircraft to open any new cities in 2007 and satisfy pent-up demand in existing cities. Time will tell if he is BSing.

Is this delay unusual? Anything to do with the time of the year (post-Christmis not a big time for booking Summer vacations)?

Yes it's unusual based on past years at this time.

I am waiting on a trip to Vegas. May 10-13. I'd rather book the entire trip at once instead of 1 one-ways... Let's go, already!!!

I'm always waiting on Vegas, May 19. Chomping at the bit here.

Hopefully it will open up next week as a family member deathly afraid of flying is so close to backing out!

Maybe a new city is coming, even though they said they would not add.

Schedule announcement occurs via a separate DING! notice, not in conjunction with an offer.
