If this is really accurate, no, stay on and move up to "better" seats if you like. You should show your BP's to the Ops Agent at the door at DEN so they can account for you (if you even get 2 BP's)

If you have TWO separate boarding passes with TWO separate flight numbers then you will absolutely need to deplane in Denver and board again.

2 boarding passes have been issued seems this is a aircraft routing situation mostly

If you are positive it is the same aircraft going on, you can ask the agent the meets the flight to scan your BP and stay on the flight. I've done it a few times when it was cheaper to buy separate tickets. Just go to the aircraft door once everyone leaves. They should be glad to have 2 less people scramble for seats. YMMV, the worst they can do is say get off..

If the Southwest site says "Change Planes in Denver" I'd plan on it.

Some MSP-OAK do a second stop in Boise or Seattle and "no plane change" on a 50-minute stop.

This is inaccurate. FAs have always been able to have the GA scan the connecting BP so no need to leave the aircraft, IME.

I am thinking that since its such a tight turn 50 minutes late in the evening that they would allow us to stay on, but since its not a through flight as booked just a through flight as aircraft utilization is where it gets tricky

Wonder how the "through count" would be affected by this process. You might need to get off to make that count work.

There is policy and there is what some employees have done as an exception in the past and the OP won't know until the day of the flight what he or she will actually encounter.

I'll be curious to know what happens.

Since they have different flight #'s, one fight line is ending, and a new one is beginning. There technically is no through count since its not a through flight.

The OP should be prepared to deplane and re-board, but also ask nicely if its possible to stay on board and have the connecting boarding pass scanned.
If there is also a crew change, and a period of time with no flight attendants on board, then its not possible for passengers to stay on the aircraft.

The last time I did it, the "count" was over by the 3 of us entrenched in the exit row for the last 6 1/2 hours and 2 segments. I waived our 3 BPs to the FA and tried to explain but she was done and running out the door. The gate agent took them and all was well. It was a 3 segment, 9 hour transit from Northern CA to NY for us and we (me and 2 teenagers) never got off the plane...

assuming this is the same aircraft..thr numbers can change because a crew changes or its viewed as a terminating flight for routing purposes.

If thry change the number it prevents continuous connections on the route where you can only to 1 connect snd 2 same plane stop or 2 same plane stops in a route. By chanfgingbthr flight number would b
ock PAX from a prior city to do a connection through denver or fly thru denver without doing on booking because they want to force PAX on other flights.

I can not speak to this situation, but we had something similar a year or two ago.

ROC-BWI-BNA. - two different flight numbers.

Landed in BWI, got off the plane and looked up to see we were leaving from the same gate we were at. Same plane, but new flight number and new crew. Spoke with GA at the time and said everyone had to get off as the existing crew was getting off.

Standard practice? No idea.
