Odds of fares decreasing??
I need to book flts from LGB>BOI for March. Should I book now or is there a "fair" chance prices will drop in the next few months?
LGB>LAS>BOI is currently $233 for the date & time we need. TIA

One of the reason so many use SWA - you can rebook and get a credit back.

Fares start at $109 one-way on route, but you will almost certainly have to fly Mon-Wed to find fares that low. If you are looking to fly out on a Thu-Fri in late March, they will almost certainly never get that low due to high demand for those days during ski season. I suspect the $199 price point will be about the lowest you will see for those days. Fare sale or no, they aren't going to sell seats into BOI on some of the highest demand days of the year for a song. Airline revenue management systems look a at number of metrics and historical travel demand on routes is a big part of that.

The only possible wrinkle I can see is that your connecting point (LAS) is always a huge March Madness destination. Southwest probably won't have to deep-discount to sell those flights.
But as others have said, you can lock in a fare now and just watch it and snag a credit if it drops.

You could also look at SNA. Similar distance from the cruise terminal....happens to have some decent fares to BOI in March across a few different days ($125-ish one way). Also a more pleasant airport experience and possibly less traffic getting there depending on time of day.
