Seats available 'through' but not 'to'

PIT-LAS non stop has no seats available for sale (Aug 9) but PIT-LAS-{SAN,LAX,BUR} is available for sale. What's the rationale?

Maybe I do not understand the question, but if a flight sells out, it no longer has seats available.

That is the only nonstop from PIT and I would guess it is the first pick for many customers.

OKAY - now I get the question. The same flight from PIT-SAN for example stops in LAS, but you can not buy the PIT-LAS segment.

Hmmmm... maybe it just got cancelled or about to?

As of this moment, there is only one seat left on the PIT-LAS-SAN flight.
Same one seat on PIT-LAS-BUr and PIT-LAS-LAX

I wonder if this same thing would explain the high fares LAS\PIT and back. The options with stops end up being *much* cheaper for weekend trips. But I don’t want to spend double the time for the same trip.

And the same one seat is available on PIT-LAS-BUR and PIT-LAS-SAN options (there is no longer inventory open on LAS-LAX flight 1760). There can potentially be different inventory availability on flights depending on pairings (married segment inventory), but right now there is not. Married segment inventory can work both ways (there can be more inventory open on non-stop flight vs connecting options which involve the non-stop) depending whatever metrics revenue management has applied.

OP here...

One seat ended up popping up the morning of the flight (PIT-LAS). Interesting enough it was a "Wanna Get Away" fare so I grabbed it.
