Southwest expands hawaii routes

Sorry if this has already been posted but it appears southwest is now offering nonstop routes between Las, Lax and Phx to certain hawaii airports. I am sure our gurus can provide more route specific info.

These are all 737-MAX , 6+ hour flights... If when part or all of MAX fleet get (or remain) grounded, these routes will be unflyable without a technical stop for fuel in California.

Last I talked with WN their MAX ETOPS cert was still pending, so I guess that was obtained.

Those are the nonstops. Connections can be made through HNL or OGG daily to all island airports including ITO.

Actually, they already have more fuels. They had more capabilities, more fuel-efficient, and more range. They can flying more nonstop flights. No need to stop in California to refuel the plane.

The fare sale on these was nice. Surprised not more chatter about that. We planned LGB-OGG for the Summer using points. Called today, switched to LAX-OGG, and got points redeposited.

Great news but with the rental car price and availability issue going on, I'm not sure anyone can arrange a summer trip this late unless staying in a resort is all he/she wanted. LF may not be great this summer.

Right, it will be very slow summer. They will be busy again later in the Fall or Winter 2021. Who knows??

Vegas to Hawaii seems like a great route for Southwest, since Las Vegas is known as "the 9th Hawaiian Island"!

I am excited to spend a few days on the 9th island at the tail end of my 11 days maui/oahu trip.
