I would definitely expect MDW as Sarasota, Bradenton, and Siesta Key have a great following of retirees and winter dwellers from the Southwest side of Chicago. But I doubt that Southwest starts anything west of MDW/HOU. I'd expect a lot of BWI, maybe a LGA or two on the weekends, and then either ATL or BNA.

HOLY CRAP it’s not even my birthday
This probably saves me 200 hours a year of I-75 driving
I am vibrating with excitement
Too early to request an MSY nonstop? 😂😂😂

You can look to see where Allegiant flies to/from SRQ as an indication of where Southwest is going to go. They have indicated that they are going to start following their lead in the FL markets for leisure travelers, since ALGT has kept their Florida flights full this entire year.

Available for booking starting Valentine’s Day. Looking like BWI, MDW, HOU, BNA
edit: 3x BWI, 2x MDW, 2x BNA, 1x HOU
of note: Baltimore Orioles spring training in Sarasota, southwest is the official airline of the Orioles.

That's good choice. Lots of fans who are going to SRQ to see Baltimore Orioles games. I bet they are very happy.
